I love Chi Cafe. So much. Their food is always great and the delivery will always be on time, if not early. I ordered egg drop soup, 1/2 hand pulled chicken, and XO sauce rice rolls. All so good. This is the first time I had the hand pulled chicken and it's one of my favorites now. Fresh, simple, clean. It's literally the hand-pulled meat of half a chicken. Some salt, and voila. Healthy, clean, and totally yummy. The egg drop soup has so much egg in it, it's actually somewhat hearty. Soup came piping hot. Had to let it sit and cool down. The XO sauce rice rolls are a must. Either of the rice rolls, really. Both sauces are great but what really makes it is how fluffy, tender, and moist the rice rolls are. They soak up all that sauce and their fluffiness allows you to grab some of the other accompanying veggies in the same bite. So good.
Oh, and one last thing. Chi Cafe is amazing with their delivery service. Always give you extra utensils, napkins, sauce packets, and (my favorite) this cute little economy-sized to-go pack of napkins. It's a small detail, but it shows that they pay attention to that fine of a level.
I love Chi Cafe so much - in the words of the great Tracy Morgan - I would take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant.

Alright so here's the thing, Grubhub says I'm out of their delivery zone, which turns out to be two blocks north from where it ends. So what do I do when I'm in a desperate need for a Chinese fix and I mean "Chinese American", ya know, the sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, egg drop soup, crab ragoons, allllll the good stuff... I call them right up and order directly from them! I was reluctant the first time, but to my surprise they've never had an issue! I always judge a to go place by their carryout containers and Chi Cafe packages everything with the upmost care. I would be bold enough to even say, the best Chinese food in Chicago. Yep, I said it.

Mmm.... This is some of the best food in Chinatown. Skip the standard orange chicken or similar dishes, and go for a very affordable and generously portioned noodle soup(spicy beef is delicious), or anything salt and pepper (I like the salt and pepper squid with chilli oil, make sure to eat one bite of rice for each bite of meat for best flavor). This place is also routinely early on their deliveries, so that is a huge plus. All In all I can't recommend this place enough. Stop by their location in Chinatown as well if you feel like going out. It's always fun to wander around Chinatown square after a meal.

The food was incredibly delicious. And the order came in within 30 minutes of my ordering it, even though the listed time was 70-80 minutes. The crab Rangoon is delicious as was the sweet and sour chicken (really appreciate how many vegetables were included in the sauce). Love the chicken fried rice as well. The general tsos chicken was the only dish that was not great. The chicken was over fried so it was a little chewy and leathery. Love this place though. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

I started the night by ordering from another restaurant but after 1 entree, 1 drink and 1 small side, I was already past 25 dollars. I thought to myself "wait... you're a college student" so I turned to Chinese food to save money. After ordering 4 entrees my bill came out to be less than the previous restaurant. The food was delicious and the portions satisfying. Not to mention Chi Cafe will even deliver after 1am. Can you see how this place is a Godsent for poor students prone to all-nighters?
